Shrimper Working

I love to watch the whole operation of catching shrimp. This shrimper was working on his wooden boat one beautiful afternoon at the Port Royal boat docks, where I like to hang out. Also Dockside Restaurant is there and a great place to eat:-) I love the lines of shrimping vessels and the colors they are painted and even the scrapes and scratches revealing the layers of years of work. Our marsh here in the low country of South Carolina is nearly pristine. We would like to keep it that way, but big oil is looming about like a huge shark, just waiting for the opportunity to drill here. Most people in this area are solidly against any off shore drilling, for an accident as we have seen elsewhere would destroy these marshes for many years. A good healthy marshland is essential for shrimp to live. So…no marsh equals no shrimp.
